A Save with Sydney Lesson on Brickseek

What is Brickseek?

Brickseek is a web application designed to help you check local store inventory. It is typically used to see if an item is on clearance in your area/at your store.

Brickseek shouldn’t be used as a price matching tool nor is it 100% accurate depiction of store inventory. You can access it at brickseek.com through desktop or mobile access. You can also follow them on Instagram.

Stores that you can check:

  • Walmart

  • Target

  • Staples

  • The Home Depot

  • Lowe’s

  • Office Depot

  • Office Max

  • CVS Pharmacy

How to use Brickseek

  1. Go to brickseek.com

  2. Select “Inventory Checkers”

  3. Select the store you want to search

  4. Type in the UPC or DPCI/SKU/Item #

  5. Type in your zipcode

  6. Select “Search Inventory”

  7. Scroll down through the list to find a store that has the product in stock

  8. Drive to the store and look for the item

  9. Don’t mention Brickseek to the sales associates

Searching Store Inventory

the most common way to search Store Inventory is by searching the barcode aka UPS (universal product code). To narrow it down, you can also search Store Inventory but their itemized system

  • Walmart/CVS/Staples - SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)

  • Target - DPCI (department code item)

  • Lowes - Product #

  • Office Depot - Item #

  • Home Depot - Internet #

In the Store

Brickseek is not affiliated in any way with the stores listed. It is simply a tool to help you in your clearance search! Therefore, do not go into the store showing associates Brickseek! If you have couponing long enough, you will remember when target forced Brickseek to remove some of the information from its website (quantity). I’m 100% sure this happened because someone went into a Target, walked up to the CS desk, and complained. Probably because Brickseed showed that Target had 5 of a clearance item in stock but they couldn’t find it on the floor!

Something I do? If Brickseek is showing an item is in stock, but I cannot find it… I’ll pull up the item in that store’s website/app. Then I’ll show the associate!

Me: “Hey, YOUR website shows you have this item in stock but I can’t find it! Can you help me?!?”

Brickseek also gives you the option to go directly to the item on that store’s website! This is what I will show an associate, but never Brickseek!

Don’t know the UPC/SKU/DPCI?

Type in the keyword of what you’re looking for. Then scroll the options until you find what you’re looking for. Select that item and it will display the SKY/DPCI/Item #

And as always… YMMV!
